Soumaya Berjeb is a Doctor in Sciences of Information and Communication
(SIC), a Researcher in, a Journalist, a Press officer, a Media trainer, a
blogger, and a cartoonist from Tunisia.
Soumaya is a teacher of Audio-visual
production at the Institute of Press and Sciences of Information she's
specialized in "Media discourse' analysis" and she’s interested in Gender,
political studies and Communication sciences.
As a researcher, Soumaya has written many articles about Media discourse and international crisis, she's focusing on some topics like: Poverty, Gender, Racism, Extremism, social justice, intercultural dialogue, political conflicts, violence and tolerance.
During her professional carrier, she has spent 7 years as a journalist at Akademia Magazine, and she worked as a freelance for different Newspapers. Her former experience as a communicator had helped her to have a criticism tendency, a good interpersonal communication skills and to work with teams of researchers, journalists and bloggers from different cultures.
Since 2010, Soumaya Berjeb Worked as a Press officer responsible for
information and communication at the Manouba University (Tunisia), she was
charged with Events Media Coverage for 14 higher Education institutions in
different specialties like ( Humanities, Arts, Biology, Business and
Information Sciences), her mission was based in coordination between Media and
University and she was charged with
communication’s strategies building.
In
orbit of her special potentials and her unique prospective, Soumaya has joined the
Institute of Press and Sciences of Information (IPSI). As an Audiovisual
production teacher (TV Journalism) in 2012.
Because
of her talents in writing and Cynical criticism, Soumaya has worked as Journalist and Cartoonist for Akademia
Magazine, Attarik Eljadid Newspaper and other Media, and she developed her
knowledge to become a Media trainer with
national and international foundations such as : WWU, UNESCO, DW Academy, CAPJC
, BBC MEDIA ACTION, etc.
As a
trainer, her last workshop was about “Gender & Media” (23th to 25th
October 2019) : it was a training to
deepen the students’ knowledge (of the Master communication political and of
master Gender) about the importance of Media discourse around Gender issues and
its role to keep tolerance and variance’s aptness in the society.
In
2018, Soumaya has gotten her PHD which was focusing on “Conflict in
international Media discourses” and she got a very honorable mention. In order
to progress in her carrier as a researcher, Soumaya has participated in
different international research projects such as : GEST gender studies
(Tunisia, Morocco, Croatia 2018), Tunisia in Transition Project (Germany 2016),
Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation & CIMAT research project (2018-2020) on
social studies and violence, The ABDEM
project (The Human Rights Approach Based on Higher Education in the Maghreb (TEMPUS
program2015-2016 )) , the Safety of Journalists covering in conflict in sensitive
issues - research project organized by group
MEKK at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Oslo and Akershus
University College in cooperation with IAWRT (Norway 2017) , and others.
In view of the changes taking place in the Arab political scene, and with a view to a continuous media transition in Tunisia, Soumaya Berjeb has become an analyst asked by the Arab and Tunisian media for political communication.

attractive experiences have highlighted the Soumaya’s professional and academic
efforts during the last years and it encouraged her to recognize the importance
of her scientific activities and to continue her researcher carrier.
Soumaya
has worked also as an field analyst for The Norwegian UNESCO commission
(2014) and for the independent and the
higher instance of elections (ISIE) as Media mentoring analyst (October 2011).
